Sleepless night
I had the most evil insomnia last night. It wasn't really insomnia, so to speak - more like induced sleeplessness. I watched Schindler's List (which is the most *awesome* film and the soundtrack will Make You Die, John Williams is God) - then I sent some mails and went to bed, and fell asleep. Then, at precisely 3.36AM, my little sister's alarm clock goes off, for some godforsaken reason. It's not one of those radio alarms, where the radio turns on and just plays quietly in the background, nono....it's one of those BEEP alarms that are calculated to beep at the precise frequency that will Not allow you to ignore it (as I tried to for twenty minutes). B-b-b-beep. You know, THAT kind. So, as I said, I valiantly tried to shut down my hearing system for about 20 minutes, in vain - gave up, went to my sisters' room and turned the damn thing off (the two of them can sleep through trumpets, I swear), and when I went back to bed, I could not sleep.
So, a restless night in all. Bah, sleep is a waste of life. I downloaded the piano and violin main themes (Itzhak Perlman is The Man) from Schindler's List just now. I think I may sit in a dark room, play them on my headphones and let the music dissolve me.
I feel sorry for people who say they can't appreciate orchestral music.
