Atrocious jokes aside, happy birthday to Hsiang :) You know, people make such a big deal out of the 18th birthday. I know I did (cf. January archives). But I find it funny when people say "Oh, but you're only 18 once, you know??!?!" and then laugh as though they are Einstein-incarnates for coming up with that gem of an observation. This kind of laugh sounds roughly like "Hyuk! Hyuk! Hygurrrk!!!", and it is a sure sign of chronic mental instability. When you hear this laugh, put your left foot behind your right foot, then your right foot behind your left foot, and repeat this process until, due to the wonderful phenomenon called "perspective", this person becomes extremely small.
You can also do this when faced with a flock of aunties who have not seen you for a very long time, e.g. 2 weeks ago, and will descend upon your quivering frame with outstretched index fingers and thumbs to attempt to tear the flesh off your cheek and squeal in neo-supersonic tones about how much you've grown in the past e.g. 2 weeks.
Personal experience speaks volumes.
Anyhoo, now that I'm done imparting my Words of Wisdom...Happy birthday also to Normah, who is not 18 but 19 (you're only 19 once, you know?!!?!!? Hyuk, hyuk, HYGUURRKK). I'll see you in a couple of hours :)
