Muahaha
| Muahahhahahhahaahahah!! Oh, the joy. Tonight's plans: soothing background music, champagne, strawberries, a warm inviting bed, and.....The Order of the Phoenix. I just cannot wait to read it. I woke up at....well, I woke up at 1.30, haha, and went straight out to buy it. It's so deliciously THICK. Harry Potter books are the kind of books I wish would never end. I hope the hype is justified, though. J.K. Rowling has a lot to live up to with this book, and there are going to be a lot of angry fans if the book doesn't match up to the wild success of the previous four bestsellers. |
There's nothing like curling up with good literature. There are some who say Harry Potter doesn't count as literature, but that's because when people think "literature", for some reason visions of Shakespeare and Chaucer and Dickens leap like deranged rabbits into their minds. In the minds of many today, modern authors don't "count" as literature, because they aren't impossibly difficult to understand and don't write as though they've ingested three dictionaries. To clarify: literature is any written word. Yes, even the "Made in Taiwan" tag on the back of your shirt is literature.
Now here's a poser: does TV count as literature? On one hand it could, because a) there are words on a TV screen, b) what is said on television is initially literature (e.g. scripts, speeches etc), and c) it's all to do with conveying a message, so in a way it's like..."audio" literature...? On the other hand, though, the television is first and foremost a visual form of media, i.e. images as opposed to writing...well I don't know. Interesting thought, anyway.
