Virgin Guest Blogger
I was recently bestowed the honour of guest blogger on Mind Dreams, a website that's actually been inspired by idleThinK...which is cool :) Anyway, for the sake of posterity, here is - verbatim - my "virgin" post on Mind Dreams. Enjoy, people.
Ahh, the honour of being a guest blogger. Isn't that the silliest word, though, "blogger". The origins of the term "blog" (she says, as she launches into a history lesson), are derived from the word "weblog", which basically means "web log" (or if you are strange and crazy like me, it could also stand for "we blog", ahaha). Since "weblogger" is just too much, the internet community settled on "blogger", and the term exploded. Currently there are over four million blogs out in the world. That's four million people with nothing better to do than to record their thoughts in the virtual world.
And I have a theory, which bloomed in the dark recesses of my idle mind sometime yesterday, that surely a significant percentage of these four million bloggers would actually be criminals if they didn't have blogging to occupy their lives. That is to say, if they couldn't release their psychotic tendencies verbally on the internet, they would release them in the rather less desirable forms of axe murdering, serial raping and giving spontaneous wedgies to senators, or something equally terrible. Therefore, blogging should be recognized as a form of community service. Like, prison convicts could do blog therapy on probation, or something.
I say this because I think I am one of these alternate-criminal bloggers. If I didn't have idleThinK to sponge up my excess thoughts, I'd either be behind bars and/or swinging from gallows....or there would be a hell of a lot of uncomfortable senators out there.
Right, I'm out of here. Enjoy :)
