Inhuman
I thought today that it might actually be quite human to be inhuman. Example: explorers who climb Mount Everest are so hellbent on achieving their own goal of reaching the summit that they will march blithely past a fallen man desperate for aid on the side of the mountain path. The preservation of self-interest is the most human thing to do, and yet it can entail some of the most inhuman acts. A bit ironic, really.
