The scenic route
I thought today that it would be quite fun to be out driving on the road, randomly pick a car and follow it until its final destination. I thought that it was a very good idea indeed, until my overactive imagination lingered ominously on a few scenarios:
1) I could unwittingly follow the chosen car to Thailand.
2) I could unwittingly follow the chosen car to Rawang, or some other ridiculously far-off place, and get hopelessly and irretrievably lost trying to find my way back.
3) I could unwittingly follow the person to Rawang and get hopelessly and irretrievably lost trying to find my way back, and then get stopped by a rapist who has been watching my confused travels for the past 10 hours, and has decided that I would be a prime target.
4) I could be mistaken for a rapist/stalker and be led unwittingly to a police station, whereupon a gaggle of pre-warned policemen would descend upon my confused frame with well-intentioned truncheons and handcuffs, ignoring my vociferous protests, and there would follow a period of Having Quite A Lot To Explain, probably to a jury, not to mention my parents.
5) I could, by some stroke of terrible luck, pick a getaway car to follow, and not only would I then follow the bank robbers to their hideout, but either they would mistake me as a plain-clothes policewoman and kill me on sight, or the policemen would mistake me as the bank robbers' accomplice, and would arrest me on sight....
There were many more, incrementally imaginative scenarios. All were at least marginally possible. And so, in conclusion, for my own personal safety, I have scrapped the idea.
Besides, can you imagine the petrol expenses?
