Chapter 14 [Kristel]
As people's sense of self-identity spread and grew, so did their sense of self-worth and self-importance. For a realisation of "I" inevitably brings with it "I can" and "I want" and "I will". Corporations sprung up again, fuelled by the desires and self-interests of the self-aware populace. Schoolyard bullies deemed that "I enjoy picking on small defenceless children" was infinitely preferable to "Please don't hurt me". Dictatorial regimes rose from the ashes, spurred on by the self-aggrandizing egoes of their respective authoritarian figures.
In short, the world reverted back to the way it was, has been and always will be.
