Contemporary witching
Everyone has the intrinsic ability to curse and blaspheme effectively. Why, some time ago I unleashed a dastardly curse upon one of my good friends; in a fit of vengeful frenzy, I screamed "Fiend! May you someday put your keys down somewhere and forget where you put them!" And lo! yesterday, it came true.
Burn me at the stake!
Also, the words "fiend" and "friend" are only one letter apart.
