It occurs to me that sex is a biological justification for being a hedonist. Since the most important function of a human being is its reproductive cycle, and since the reproductive cycle is driven ultimately by pleasure, it follows that the seeking of pleasure is intrinsic to the human psyche. Id est, if the seeking of pleasure is rewarded by the continuation of the species' existence, and continuation of the species is the ultimate evolutionary success, then we should all be hedonists, by nature. And not feel guilty about it. QED.
