we need a collective listing of epiphanies -- some forum somewhere we could go to inscribe & share those revelations and insights that assail us all of a sudden in the night, or on a bus, or mid-sentence. I would love to see what epiphanies people have, and have had. a poem that unexpectedly leaps into focus; the casual slosh of bathwater over the side; a startling realization of agency; the sudden true understanding of finitude & mortality; a worldview reinvented; the albatross falling away; those original epiphanies on Dedalus's green oval leaves...
perhaps not even such lofty things as these. this morning I was struck by the tiniest of epiphanies upon awakening: I am here, it is morning, and this person beside me exists. how numinous.
